A few months ago I needed a cute soap dispenser that would go with my kitchen decor. So I searched online "Mason Jar Soap Dispenser" and came up with this.

A Mason Jar Soap Dispenser is a great way to add a touch of country charm to your home! You can easily, and inexpensively make your own soap dispenser by following these instructions!

The first step is to obtain either a clear or a tinted - blue Mason jar with a "small mouth". This type of jar, which is actually used for canning fruits, vegetables and meats, can usually be found in the standard quart size. They are also made in some smaller sizes as well. How big, or how small the jar is completely up to you. Here's an important tip: if you obtain a used Mason jar, inspect it to make sure that it is free from defects, cracks, and other damage.

The next step is to obtain a seal and a ring. The seal is a flat top that fits inside the ring. The ring is a round, metal part that screws onto the threads of the jar; it tightens the seal. It's best that you use a brand new ring and seal as used parts can become rusty after a period of use. You will also need a soap dispenser pump. Here's a tip: you can often purchase soap dispensers for cheap at your local dollar store. Use the pump for this project, and save the container for another project! You can purchase just the pumps either at your local craft store, or on the Internet. Just make sure it's a two - part pump. Make sure the tube of the pump is long enough to reach down almost to the bottom of the Mason jar. If the tube is too long, you can easily trim it down to the right size with a pair of scissors. And, you will need a rubber washer that has a hole that is the same size as the tube of the pump.

Now comes the fun part of this project. It's time to decide how you want to decorate your Mason Jar Soap Dispenser. There are many different ways to do this in order to personalize your own dispenser. You can make the Mason jar as plain or as fancy as you want it to be. You can leave the jar and the metal parts plain, with just a pretty ribbon tied around the neck. Or, you can paint the jar and the metal parts in whatever colors you may choose. You can even cover the entire jar in pretty cloth that has country patterns on it. The possibilities are almost endless!

Here's an important tip for you: keep in mind, that, as you are decorating the seal you will need to drill a hole in the middle of it later on.

After you have decorated the Mason jar and the metal parts to your liking, allow any paint, glue, et cetera, to dry thoroughly before you proceed on to the next step.

Now it's time to assemble the pump part of your soap dispenser. To do this, you will need to carefully measure, then drill a hole, in the center of the seal of the Mason jar. Then, on the inside of the seal, you will need to use a good, waterproof adhesive to glue the rubber washer over the drilled hole.

Carefully unscrew the ring from the soap dispenser pump. Use a good, waterproof adhesive to glue the ring directly over the center hole. Allow the glue to thoroughly dry before you move on to the next step.

Finally, once the glue is dry, put the tube of the pump into the hole in the center of the seal. Screw it down tightly, place the seal on the jar, and screw on the ring. Fill it with liquid soap, and your Mason Jar Soap Dispenser is ready for use.

Mckayla's Lady Bug 4th Birthday Party

I thought since I have somethings that we did for Mckayla's Lady Bug Birthday Party, I thought that I would post a few pictures of the decorations. The cup cakes were the main/most of the decorations. But here are a few others/ideas.

Quinn had decorated the front door really cute. But he then took it down before I could take a picture of it. But it was really cute. =(

Lady Bug Invitations

Are these Lady Bug invitations ADORABLE!? I got the idea online and thought that I would try it. I did these for Mckayla's 4th Birthday Party this June. They turned out really good....and cute!

Jungle Theme Diaper Cake

This past Sunday we had my sister in laws (Quinn's sister, Eve) baby shower. I really wanted to make/do she something special since it's our first niece/nephew on Quinn's side of the family. We are all very excited and can't wait to meet him/her in June.

So for her shower I did a Diaper Cake for them and baby Knepp. It's nice to look at and very nice to be able to use if she is wanting/needing.

There is what I have on it:

- Pack of Diapers (I used the Huggies brand, stage 1) which is a 100 diapers total
- A very cute Stuffed Animal (still haven't decided if it was a giraffe or lion) lol..
- 3 Baby Socks
- Baby Spoons
- Lotion
...And other little baby decorations in the baby theme

Since they aren't finding out what they are having I did pink and blue. I was going to use the colors of their baby room but couldn't find the type of ribbon in their colors. =( oh-well

Here are a few more pictures:

I can't believe it's Easter coming up this weekend! It really really makes me miss being in Chesapeake and with my family and the "family traditions" that we have done since having Mckayla. So I have been missing home and doing the "things" we all used to do. Like going to the Bergey's Breadbasket for their children's Easter Egg Hunt, Easter dinner at my parents and then afterwords having fun hinding the Easter eggs for Mckayla and Caia to find. This year is going to be different.

Saturday we do have a Outreach Easter Egg Hunt that our church is doing at a near by park. Which I have been really excited about! It would be really good and Mckayla can't wait since I have been prepping her up the for fun we are all going to have! I am going to be helping with the crafts so it will be fun!

Sunday, Quinn and I don't have much of any plans other than spend the day at home. Maybe we will dye eggs with Mckayla and have her find them around the yard to try to make it special. I don't know. But one thing that I do know that this is a good way to not forget the true meaning of Easter. Our Risen Lord!! And I hope that we all can remember this!

I can't end this without a cute craft/Easter Basket that I made for Mckayla last year. I don't know where it even is...but it was a cute little basket that's for sure!

Chore Chart

Here is a good idea that we are doing now with Mckayla. It's a new Chore Chart! lol..I think she is more excited about it at times then I am.

On one side is the morning chores and the other side are the afternoon/evening chores. It was really fun going through magazines with her and picking out the pictures to use. And then coloring it was fun too! When she finishes a chore she is able to put a magnet on/beside the picture. This is just a good way to get her used to doing her own things in her daily routine and learning that she has to do her part too around the house.

No, it's not perfect but she loves it!

This is the first bag that I completed. lol...maybe I should just stick with cooking and everything else. But again, it's the first one so it's not going to be perfect. But the most important thing is that Mckayla thinks amazing and she loves playing with it. So I guess it's not completely a waste.

Little Bitty Baby Boy

So I just had to post this one just because....The only thing I did was paint the shelf and hang it up. But it's the little bitty shirt, the botties and hat that I can't get enough of. They used to be so big on Connor! They were given to him when he was in the hospital from them. And the book and bunny were given to Connor from some amazing friends of ours. When he was just a few months old.

First Curtains Ever....Done!

Their done and I hope their looking good. These are the first one that I have completed with success! When I get a project going and its going well...I can't stop. I finished these in less than 2 hours. Hopefully these aren't the last. :D

Finger Prints and Memories

This is a fun craft/project that Mckayla and I do each year for her birthday. On her actual birthday around the time she was born we do a hand print of her hand onto either a star or a heart (her middle name means starts and her had our hearts way before she was born) ...anyways, this is just something that we have done each year that I and her look forward to. I am trying to think of a theme/colors to use for Connor when he reaches his 1st birthday, which is less then two months!!

1st Birthday

2nd Birthday

3rd Birthday (we still haven't finished it! eekkkk)

Little Crafts for a Little Girl's Room

Here are some other little crafts that I did for Mckayla's room. Can you tell what the colors are in her room?! lol...but more, their "Big Girl Pink", "Big Girl Purple" and "Big Girl White". If you can imagen who in earth said that! lol...

Yarn Dolls

This is a doll that I can going to try to do soon. This doll was given and made by my Grandma when I was little. I want to make some more. Hope it looks good like this one. This one is now in my daughter's room. But trust me, it is not a doll to play with. :)
